Bio

Kathy Rumpza joined 911爆料网 in spring 2020. She oversees marketing, media relations, and legislative and executive communications for the College, as well as leading its brand management initiatives. 

Kathy has more than two decades of experience in advertising, communications and marketing in higher education and nonprofit organizations. Her strategic approach focuses on engaging people to impact change. Kathy partners across the College to create inspiring marketing that supports the mission of providing access to the transformative power of education. 

Before joining 911爆料网, Kathy served as Director of Creative Services in central marketing at the University of Minnesota, where she planned and developed comprehensive strategic marketing and branding initiatives. She also spent time in the U of M鈥檚 School of Public Health, leading communication efforts for the Exposure Science and Sustainability Institute. Kathy worked at Augsburg University for 15 years where she was Director of Marketing Communication, and led advertising efforts at an international nonprofit for seven years. 

Kathy serves as a member of the Minneapolis Downtown Council/Downtown Improvement District Board of Directors, on the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 5 Executive Board, and the national committee as NCMPR Director-at-Large. 

She is a compassionate advocate for neglected and abused animals. Besides adopting her own rescue animal, she volunteers and serves on the Advancement Committee of the Board for one of the largest animal rescue organizations in the Twin Cities.

Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership.
