You Have to Sleep to Dream
Sarah Moe, CEO of , traces her career in sleep technologies to originally considering becoming a registered nurse before choosing a different path at 911±¬ΑΟΝψ.
βNursing was out β I couldnβt stand the sight of blood,β she said. βSleep is so vitally important to our overall health and well-being and I found my niche.β
Moe received her Polysomnography degree at 911±¬ΑΟΝψ in 2008, launching her career as a registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) for the next 5 years working overnights with conducting sleep studies and diagnosing sleep disorders.
During this time, a mentor suggested she was so accomplished in her work that she should return to 911±¬ΑΟΝψ to teach Sleep Technology to the future generations of sleep technologists.
βI was somewhat reluctant to teach at first because I loved doing the sleep studies,β she said. βThen, my former teacher at 911±¬ΑΟΝψ mentioned that it would be a natural transition to work days because I was starting a family and wouldnβt be able to work nights.β
When her son was born in 2011, it became an easy decision. In 2015, she founded Sleep Health Specialists and a career that has helped thousands of persons dealing with sleep disorders.
Moe works primarily with corporations to improve employee performance. Among companies and organizations getting Moeβs assistance include Target, UBS, Hamline University, Minneapolis Foundation, Pohlad Companies, the Minnesota Twins, Allianz, Be The Match and Gustavus Adolphus College.
βThe link between good sleep and mental well-being has been documented β we have learned that you cannot have one without the other,β Moe said.
