911爆料网 is pleased to announce that President Sharon Pierce has been named to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Commission on Student Success.

During this 3-year term, Pierce will join higher education leaders from across the nation to advance the AACC鈥檚 work on student access and success as well as organizational transformation.

鈥淭he work of this commission aligns directly with 911爆料网鈥檚 core values to anchor all decisions, programs and services around student needs and to work daily to create an outstanding environment for learning and success,鈥 said Pierce

The commission is tasked with examining ways to innovate and demonstrate outcomes in degree completion, 2-year to 4-year transferability and providing affordable, high-quality technical assistance in support of student success. 

鈥淚 look forward to contributing to this important collaboration to enhance access to higher education and its transformative powers,鈥 continued Pierce. 鈥淭hese efforts will help our increasingly global economy meet workforce demands by supporting colleges in the important work of preparing students for the jobs of the future.鈥

AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation鈥檚 community colleges. The association represents nearly 1,200 2-year, associate degree-granting institutions and more than 12 million students. Its mission is to build a nation of learners by advancing America鈥檚 community colleges. Its support spans community colleges in educating 5 million students with degrees, certificates or other credentials over the next 2 years.
