911±¬ÁÏÍø Legislative Advocacy Bootcamp and Town Hall Meeting
Understanding the Legislative Process and Tips for Citizen Advocacy
911±¬ÁÏÍø students, faculty and staff are invited to attend an online Legislative Advocacy Bootcamp and Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, March 9 from 3 until 5 p.m.
The bootcamp will prepare you to support current and future 911±¬ÁÏÍø students by joining in legislative advocacy efforts. Learn about the legislative process, how to connect with legislators and how to advocate for 911±¬ÁÏÍø. This event will prepare you to talk with legislators about how lives are transformed through the unique educational experience 911±¬ÁÏÍø provides.
- 3 p.m. Advocacy Bootcamp – understanding how decisions are made and tips on using social media and other outreach tools to equip you to become an advocate.
- 4 p.m. Breakout Sessions – choose either Room 1 to gain an understanding of Minnesota State’s legislative request or Room 2 to gain an understanding of LeadMN’s legislative request.
- 4:30 p.m. Town Hall Meeting with legislators – meet with a legislator who was elected to represent one of the districts where most 911±¬ÁÏÍø students reside.
